This page is one of the Dev Logs for the Fictorum development track as published by Scraping Bottom Games.

Contents[ | ]

Hey spellcasters! We’ve made huge strides to bring Fictorum to a playable state in the past few weeks, which is why were are sending it out this week to streamers, YouTubers, and the press! We’re really excited to be at this point with Fictorum with our Kickstarter just two weeks away!

Sharing the Fictorum Alpha Build![ | ]

We are so proud to announce that after 15 months of hard work, Fictorum is now ready to be sent out to the video game community!

If you are a member of the press or have an established YouTube channel, Twitch channel, blog, website, or similar medium and would like an alpha copy of our game, please email us directly at scrapingbottomgames@gmail.com. Please read our page with details on creating content with Fictorum, and keep in mind that we can’t guarantee that everyone who requests an alpha copy will receive one.

New Main Character[ | ]

Meet our new main character! Notice his partially corrupted face, eye, and arm (lingering gift from his attempted execution). Our character modeler, Azima, went above and beyond to create this amazing character for us and we are thrilled with him! Chip fired up Maya after a long time away in order to build the life-like cloth movement using APEX cloth.

Short Gameplay Video[ | ]

Chip spent some time recording and editing this short three-minute gameplay video so that we can use it to introduce our game. He’s pretty happy with the outcome!

Tutorial Improvements[ | ]

The tutorial is now better looking and clearer. Text in the level now has a nifty burning red and black effect to it, and we also added a video showing spell shaping with a portal effect.

Tavern Fully Implemented[ | ]

We spent some time filling out Leif’s tavern with some furniture and adding destruction to it. We figured we’d take you on this tavern’s final tour.

Coming Weeks[ | ]

We’ll be hosting another Twitch stream on Tuesday, June 15th at 8pm PDT. Come check out how Fictorum has progressed!

Development will take a backseat for the next few weeks so that we can be prepared for our Kickstarter campaign launching on June 21, 2016. Be sure to mark your calendars—Our next blog post will be announcing the campaign going live!
